Steven Komadina, M.D.Steven A. Komadina, M.D., is board certified and a Diplomat of the American Board of OB/GYN. He has treated patients with hormone replacement therapy for over 4 decades and has continually changed the method of therapy as the science of hormone replacement has evolved.

From pills to injections to patches to creams and gels to troches and now to pellets, he has the experience to pick the method best for each individual patient. He recognizes that bio-identical pellet therapy is now state of the art and has the advantages no previous therapy offered of continuous predictable delivery of physiologic doses. Dr. Komadina is delighted to serve his patients with cutting edge techniques developed through a partnership with BioTe pellet therapy.

He delivered his first baby in 1966, and has delivered over 16,000 babies since then. He has been in private practice in Albuquerque since 1977 and continues to care for patients today. He no longer does surgery or delivers babies and for over a decade has devoted his practice to the prevention of disease and lifestyle medicine for both women and men.

He is an internationally known lecturer on Nutrition and Wellness and has written books on prevention of disease and wellness and nutrition. He teaches and lectures doctors and the public all over the world on wellness and nutrition and has organized international wellness assemblies to bringing doctors and wellness specialists together from around the world. He graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and has taught there as a clinical faculty member as well as a guest faculty at medical schools around the world. He has served as President of both the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association and the New Mexico Medical Society in the past. In the last ten years he has served Humanitarian Missions to emerging countries on 4 continents.

He served 8 years as a New Mexico State Senator and has advised Presidents, Governors and Legislators on health issues for decades. Dr. Komadina currently serves as the Governor’s appointee to the New Mexico Medical Board, which licenses all physicians in New Mexico. He has been married for 47 years to Penny and they have 6 children and 20 grandchildren.

Unique Affiliations and Credentials

Dr. Komadina is known throughout the State of New Mexico by doctors and the public. He was a very high profile State Senator from 2001 until 2009, serving as only the second doctor to ever be elected to the New Mexico Legislature. His background as Past President of the New Mexico Medical Society and Greater Albuquerque Medical Association uniquely qualified him to speak for doctors as well as patients on matters pertaining to government intervention in health care in a State with huge urban as well as rural medical challenges. While serving he was voted outstanding State Legislator nationally by his fellow legislators from all 50 states. He has advised Presidents, Governors and Legislators on health issues for decades. Dr. Komadina currently serves as the Governor’s appointee to the New Mexico Medical Board, which licenses all physicians in New Mexico.

He served as a full time medical missionary in 1969-70 to the country of Nepal.
